Jennifer Lopez’s smoked cat-eye and ethereal fastener may have pulled first look focus at the Met Gala 2023, but a closer inspection revealed some additional noteworthy details (unsurprisingly) at nail level. To honor the evening’s theme, “Karl Lagerfeld: A line of Beauty,” nail artist Tom Bachik crafted a Chanel inspired polish job replete with a diamante logo.
“It’s in the details,” captioned Bachik, who took to social to share an up-close snap of the Met mani.
Along with the iconic Chanel interlocking C’s logo pressed upon the nail of Lopez’s ring finger—Bachik afforded the nude coffin manicure a touch of subtle noir glam in the form of a partial black French that trailed down the edge of each nail bed. The combination echoed the dual nature of Lopez’s feline eyes, the matte finish ensuring the manicure remained in the luxury camp.
The takeaway? When it comes to a Lopez look, always chance a glance at the nails.
