TOKYO — Fashion model Jessica Michibata has been arrested on suspicion of possessing the synthetic drug MDMA in the capital, the Mainichi Shimbun learned from investigative sources on March 20.
The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) arrested Michibata, 38, on suspicion of violating the narcotics special measures law. According to investigative sources, she is suspected of having possessed MDMA in a hotel room in Tokyo, where she was staying with an acquaintance.
- Tokyo Customs officials found the drug hidden in a package that arrived from overseas and was addressed to the acquaintance. When the package was delivered to the hotel, MPD investigators reportedly raided the room and arrested Michibata and her acquaintance on the spot.
