Meghan Markle Celebrates 43rd Birthday Amid New Milestone

As Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, rings in her 43rd birthday this Sunday, there’s no doubt she’ll feel celebrated. An American member of the British royal family, businesswoman, and former actress, Meghan has captured the world’s attention. Married to Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, and the younger son of King Charles III, she continues to make headlines both for her past acting career and her present endeavors.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, Meghan’s acting career began at Northwestern University and eventually led her to stardom on the hit TV show, “Suits.” Now, as she turns 43 on August 4, she is expected to spend her special day privately with her family, continuing a tradition of intimate celebrations.

This year, Meghan’s birthday coincides with the airing of a rare joint interview with Prince Harry on CBS Sunday Morning. In a preview clip released on August 1, Meghan shared her concerns about protecting her children, Archie, 5, and Lilibet, 3, from harmful online content.

“Our kids are young — they’re 3 and 5. They’re amazing,” Meghan told interviewer Jane Pauley. “But all you want to do as parents is protect them. So as we can see what’s happening in the online space, we know that there’s a lot of work to be done there, and we’re just happy to be able to be a part of change for good.”

Building a safer online world is a key mission of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s Archewell Foundation, which they launched in 2020 after stepping back from their royal roles in the U.K.

Meghan is likely to mark her birthday with a low-key celebration surrounded by her closest family and friends, though the guest list no longer includes the Windsor clan. Former royal butler Grant Harrold, who worked for King Charles for seven years, believes Meghan will feel loved alongside her husband and their family. He revealed that Prince Harry is expected to host an at-home cookout for Meghan’s special day.

“He is a gentleman and a good cook,” Harrold exclusively told The Post. “He is quite old-fashioned like that.”

The couple typically celebrates birthdays privately with their children. Earlier this summer, they hosted a weekend bash for Lilibet’s third birthday at their Montecito home. Last year, just ahead of her birthday, Meghan and Harry were spotted enjoying dinner at Tre Lune, a popular Italian restaurant in Montecito. “From what I gathered, they enjoyed their food and had a nice time,” a source told PEOPLE.

Meghan marked her milestone 40th birthday in 2021 by launching the 40×40 initiative, encouraging people to commit 40 minutes to support women returning to work. The announcement featured a video call with Melissa McCarthy and a surprise appearance by Prince Harry, who showed off his juggling skills.

In 2018, just a few months after her royal wedding, Meghan celebrated her 37th birthday with a double celebration, joining Prince Harry at his friend Charlie van Straubenzee’s wedding.

As Meghan Markle celebrates her 43rd birthday, she continues to be a figure of fascination and admiration. With a focus on family, philanthropy, and making the world a better place, the Duchess of Sussex undoubtedly has much to celebrate this year.
