Conducted by Brittany, Editor of Derniercri Magazine
Brittany: Today, we have the privilege of speaking with Adekunle Olumide Ralphie, the Founder and President of Heal and Feed Life Care Foundation. This organization is dedicated to humanitarian aid, social empowerment, animal support, and environmental conservation. Thank you for joining us, Olumide.
Olumide Ralphie: Thank you, Brittany. It’s an honor to be here.
The Inspiration Behind Heal and Feed
Brittany: Let’s start with your background. Can you tell us a little about yourself and what inspired you to start Heal and Feed Life Care Foundation?
Olumide Ralphie: My background is in technology, business, and social impact. I have spent years working in technology, e-commerce, and fashion, but at the same time, I couldn’t ignore the harsh realities faced by many people in Africa.
The idea for Heal and Feed was born from my personal experiences. When I went out, I saw countless people suffering from malnutrition and lacking access to basic healthcare—things that don’t always cost much but remain unavailable or inaccessible to those in need.
Beyond that, I started looking at how Africa is represented on the global stage. Many stories told about Africa highlight poverty, hunger, and suffering, but I saw an opportunity to rewrite those narratives and create new ones based on empowerment, sustainability, and compassion.
I also saw the neglect and suffering of animals, which led me to integrate animal protection into our mission, working in partnership with Animal Protection Organization of Nigeria (APON), founded by Ambassador Joseph Odika. That’s how the Heal and Feed Life Care Foundation was born.
Mission & Core Functions
Brittany: What is the core mission of Heal and Feed Life Care Foundation?
Olumide Ralphie: Our mission is to heal, feed, and empower lives—both human and animal—by addressing:
- Food Security & Nutrition – Providing food to underserved communities.
- Healthcare Access – Offering medical aid and preventive healthcare.
- Animal Support & Welfare – Advocating for the well-being of animals, in collaboration with APON.
- Environmental Conservation – Engaging in sustainable initiatives like tree-planting, clean water projects, and regenerative agriculture.
Brittany: How does the foundation work to achieve these goals?
Olumide Ralphie: We rely on volunteers, partnerships, and my personal savings. Heal and Feed was officially founded on November 26, 2024, and as of now, we haven’t received any external funding or grants. Every project we’ve executed has been funded from my own resources.
Despite these challenges, we’ve built a strong network of passionate individuals who help us provide aid where it’s needed most.
Programs & Initiatives
Brittany: Can you share some of the most impactful projects the foundation has undertaken?
Olumide Ralphie: Since our launch, we’ve focused on:
- The “Feed a Family” Campaign – Distributing food packages to low-income families and displaced persons.
- Medical Outreach Programs – Offering free check-ups, medications, and health education to underserved communities.
- Animal Support Program – Providing care, rescue, and advocacy for neglected animals, run in collaboration with APON.
- Environmental Awareness Projects – Initiatives like tree planting and clean water access programs.
Brittany: What upcoming projects are you excited about?
Olumide Ralphie: We have three major projects in the pipeline:
- Grow and Give Project – This will empower communities to grow their own food, creating sustainable food sources.
- Girls Got Goals Project – A program focused on empowering young girls through education, skills training, and mentorship.
- I’m the Future Project – Aimed at empowering African youth with leadership, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development training.
Each of these projects is designed to create long-term impact rather than just short-term relief.
Challenges & Lessons Learned
Brittany: What are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced so far?
Olumide Ralphie: The biggest challenge has been funding. Since we haven’t received any external support, every expense—food supplies, medical aid, logistics—has come from my personal savings.
Logistics is another challenge. Reaching remote or conflict-affected areas requires significant resources. But we refuse to be discouraged—we’re working hard to build partnerships that will allow us to expand our reach.
Brittany: What are some key lessons you’ve learned in your journey?
Olumide Ralphie: I’ve learned that real change happens through consistency. It’s not about one big project; it’s about small, continuous efforts. I’ve also learned that collaboration is everything—you can’t do it alone.
Impact & Future Goals
Brittany: Can you share a specific success story that stands out to you?
Olumide Ralphie: There’s a young girl named Amina. She was severely malnourished and had dropped out of school due to financial struggles. Through our feeding and education support program, she regained her health and returned to school. Today, she is thriving, and her family has joined our Grow and Give Project to become self-sufficient.
Brittany: Where do you see Heal and Feed in the next 5 to 10 years?
Olumide Ralphie: I see Heal and Feed becoming a leading force in humanitarian aid and environmental sustainability across Africa. Our goals include:
- Expanding our feeding and healthcare programs to more African countries.
- Launching tech-driven solutions for food distribution and healthcare access.
- Strengthening our work in climate action and regenerative agriculture.
- Establishing a permanent headquarters that will serve as a humanitarian and environmental hub.
How to Support & Get Involved
Brittany: How can individuals, businesses, or organizations support Heal and Feed?
Olumide Ralphie: There are three main ways to get involved:
- Donate – Every contribution helps us provide more food, healthcare, and support.
- Volunteer – Whether on the ground or remotely, everyone can contribute.
- Partner with Us – Businesses and organizations can collaborate through CSR initiatives.
We welcome anyone who shares our vision to join us in making a real impact.
Personal Reflections & Final Words
Brittany: What keeps you motivated despite the challenges?
Olumide Ralphie: The lives we touch keep me going. Seeing a child smile after receiving a meal, or a family regain hope, reminds me that this work matters.
Brittany: What advice would you give to young people who want to make a difference?
Olumide Ralphie: Start now, no matter how small. Change doesn’t happen overnight, but every step adds up. Stay committed, collaborate, and keep learning.
Brittany: Finally, what is one message you want to share with the world?
Olumide Ralphie: Kindness is powerful. If we all commit to helping others, protecting our environment, and standing up for those who can’t speak for themselves, the world will be a better place.
Brittany: Thank you, Olumide, for sharing your inspiring journey. We look forward to seeing Heal and Feed grow!
Olumide Ralphie: Thank you, Brittany. It’s been a pleasure.
