World’s Most Expensive Drinking Bottled Water

Are you rich enough? Say hello to Acqua di Cristallo Tributo a Modigliani, world title holder of the World’s Most Expensive Drinking Bottled Water!

Of all things to be called expensive, water wasn’t expected to make the list as it comes as free as possible… but guess what? Creative mindset people who love breaking boundaries decided to add it to the list through packaging and rebranding.

Firstly, the water contained in the bottle was sourced from France and Fiji respectively, which makes it not your everyday water. Fiji is a country in the South Pacific, an archipelago of more than 300 islands. It’s famed for rugged landscapes, palm-lined beaches and coral reefs with clear lagoons. So basically, Fiji is known for one of the world’s sources for best waters. And then in France, even tap waters are perfectly okay to drink… some locales even pride themselves in the quality of water readily available without any form of sterilization.

And then we come to the quality of the container itself.

The bottle was made of 24 karat gold-covered, and then the shape of the bottle made it impossible to miss. And to top it all, the water has a sprinkling of 23 karat gold dust, source unknown.
The design of the bottle itself, apart from the bling factor, is pretty sweet — the “Tributo a Modigliani” part of the name refers to Italian expressionist painter and sculptor Amedeo Modigliani, and its design resembles one of the faces in the numerous portraits of women he painted. Its creator, Fernando Altamirano, is also responsible for the world’s most expensive cognac bottle.
